Aerial Arts
Aerial arts is a type of performance where artists hang from a fabric, hoop, or other apparatuses to perform acrobatics while suspended in the air. It is a form of dance looked at with awe and amazement; how can these artists dance through the sky so effortlessly?
Some types of aerial arts include the aerial hoop, hammock, static trapeze, and straps. Mizuki specializes in aerial silks, which are long columns of fabric that are rigged overhead. Popularized by Cirque du Soleil, aerial silks require not only upper body and core strength, but flexibility, control, and grace.
